Josh Green is one of the top prospects in the west for 2019. Read on for an update on his recruitment, including his thoughts on Arizona.
Josh, considered one of the top 2019 prospects in the state with his quickness, skills and ability to go inside and shoot from outside, has spent the spring playing for the Oakland Soldiers, a top AAU program, in the Nike EYBL series.
Josh Green grew up in Australian and moved to Arizona in 8th grade. He just completed his sophomore season at Hillcrest Academy (Mesa, AZ) scoring approx 18 PPG.
A 6'6 wing, Green is starring on the Under Armour circuit, playing with Earl Watson Elite 16U alongside Nico Mannion.
Through 4 games in the UAA, Green is tied for first place in scoring at 23.3 PPG (with teammate Nico Manion) shooting 53.8% from the field and 75% from the FT line.
Green is also averaging 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2.8 steals per game all putting him among league leaders.
A terrific defender who possesses superior athleticism, Green has connected on 3-pointers as well as powerful dunks, getting to the basket repeatedly.
Currently considered at top 50 prospect in the Class of 2019, Green holds 11 D1 Offers including Arizona, TCU, UNLV, Arizona St, Cal, UC Santa Barbara, Washington, San Francisco, and Utah State but we expect that number to skyrocket!
The Wildcats offered Green on 12/26/16 & he went on his unofficial visit to Arizona on 2/25/17(ASU offered him a day later) Green said he had a great visit and got to see what being an Arizona Wildcat is all about.
Current Wildcat commit DeAndre Ayton plays on the same team at Hillcrest prep and is also not shy about letting him know where he thinks he should go. At only 16 years old Josh has sometime to make a decision, so we won't find out anytime soon. He just might catch a few Wildcat games to watch his teammate Ayton. That definitely can't hurt Arizona's chances.
