Thoughts?

If anyone thinks Arizona didn't have to die to create NIL then they are delusional.

BTW - Sean, The Penguin, Miller was an "over the back" no-call away from facing Arizona and he just snagged Colorado's young superstar Isaiah Johnson... Tommy is lagging so far.

Johnson is a good score-first point guard, which is what Miller always recruited (with the except of TJ transferring in).

Lloyd will find his PG, PF and a couple backups via the portal. I'm really hoping that we land Tiller, who could be a monster as a sophomore.

I mean...it was not a secret that Arizona paid for prospects to come to Arizona.
That opened the door for that FBI investigation that got Book put in jail, and Miller fired.
That also got Wade fired from LSU and several other coaches and assistants fired.
He is not implying anything that we did not already know.

Well,

The SEC and the Ohio State and Michigan as well as others have been paying players for decades. That was all coming out, so letting the NIL deal come through kinda covers it all up now. That is across multiple sports there including FB and BB.

The NCAA has always protected the "selected" programs usually get away with whatever, while the lesser than have been hammered for BS.

If a player or players were paid, shame on us. The past is the past.

Before I respond, you are right.
Everything you mentioned is true.
The part I was referring to the most was that Arizona played a part in the last "scandal" that was uncovered before NIL or "Pay To Play" was a thing.

I will say this as well.
As a USC fan, the way the NCAA threw the book at us over that Reggie Bush scandal that was not a scandal?
Oregon got away with it.
The SEC got away with it.
Now that USC is able to play by the rules, and everything is on the up and up?
USC is able to metaphorically put their **** on the table to scratch a blank check for whomever they want to keep away from the likes of Oregon.

Everybody has been paying for players in almost every D-1 sport for the past 50 years.

ESPN didn't do their research when they attempted to attack Miller for the Ayton BS.  Did he receive money?  Probably.  Were their sources accurate, regarding a $100K payment?  Hell no.  Did they apologize?  Of course not.

Did Dook get publicity for simultaneously recruiting Zion, after he was caught red-handed via text with the KU staff?  No, because Dookie V's in bed with his "friends".

Trier can speak the truth now because there are no repercussions.  I just hope that guys like Book can find jobs in the future, after getting screwed by a system that doesn't enforce the same rules today.
