What a guy Koa Peat is. Best basketball season in a quarter century. Very difficult to watch them lose a game from start to finish. I had a feeling it was going to be a lopsided game, just didn't know which team was going to be on. Hats off to Michigan.
There were a couple of decisions that I was a little confused by during the game. I felt like Krivas should have played more minutes. Awaka was no match for their big guy. And it seemed like we gave up trying to crash the offensive glass waaay too early in the game. I know Michigan is big but we didn't have to bow down and have four of five guys sprint back when the first shot went up. Especially considering that our shots just weren't falling, even though they were good looks.
Koa and Burries were just "off". It happens. Unfortunately, it occurred in front of the entire world.
Regardless, Koa poured his heart into our program and I'm thankful. The photo says it all.
Koa Peat only lost 1 game as a College Athlete and it was the Final Four game where he still got his 16-11 with 0 Fouls against Michigan. He didn't play in the Kansas nor Texas Tech games.
(So did Aristode, but I will omit that for player impact purposes)

Pretty sure it was the first time Arizona lost with Peat scoring 10+
Missing 12 shots is extremely uncharacteristic of Koa. He has been consistent all year.
I'd kill to see him return for a Sophomore season and work on his outside shot, but realistically...he needs to take the money and jump to the pros, while the opportunity is there.
What a season, sad it ended the way it did, arizona had its worst game of the year, Michigan had something to do with it however, arizona missed a tone of shots that they make normally, an Michigan was red hot shooting.
Will miss this team forever they did everything except win us a 2nd championship, but truly a great year.
Hopefully that 2nd championship comes not to far down the road.

It was the Only Loss with Koa for Any stat when his name was in the Box Score. Period.
There is a level of humanity that kicks in when these teams lose in the NCAA Tournament.
For some, this is their last game before they go off to the NBA Draft.
For others, this is the last game of their collegiate careers.
We spend so much time beating down on some of these kids until this moment is captured.
Then the light comes on, and we realize that these are 18-24 year old kids that know nothing more than school and playing basketball.
No, I was nowhere near the athlete that all of these boys are, but I do remember how hurt I was when we lost our playoff game my senior year in HS.
I thought the world was over, and I was down for about two weeks.
I also hate how the media quickly turns and wants to ask about their NBA declarations?
There is a way to ask that question without sounding insincere about them just losing a pivotal game.
I say that to say that this is still a game, and these are still young men.
