Arizona Vs Colorado 🏀 Game Preview/Discussion Thread 3/7/26 at 9pm ESPN2

As the Big 12 regular season nears its close, the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats head to Boulder a season finale matchup against the Colorado Buffaloes on March 7, 2026, at the CU Events Center. Arizona enters with a dominant 28-2 overall record and 15-2 mark in conference play, riding a five-game winning streak after clinching at least a share of the Big 12 title with their recent win over Iowa State. The Buffaloes, meanwhile, sit at 17-13 overall and 7-10 in the league, looking to salvage a disappointing conference campaign and perhaps play the role of spoiler on senior night vibes in their home finale. Tip-off is set for 11:00 PM ET (9:00 PM MST), airing on ESPN2, with Arizona heavily favored to keep their momentum rolling toward the postseason.

Arizona's success this season stems from one of the nation's most efficient and balanced attacks. The Wildcats average 86.6 points per game while holding opponents to just 68.2, creating an impressive +18.4 scoring margin. They shoot 50% from the field overall and lead the country in rebounding at around 43 per game. Guard Brayden Burries has been the offensive engine, averaging 15.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while shooting 49.4% from the field. Forward Tobe Awaka dominates the glass with 9.6 rebounds per contest, providing interior presence and second-chance opportunities that fuel Arizona's relentless style.

Colorado will need a strong defensive effort and hot shooting to have any chance of an upset. Isaiah Johnson leads the Buffaloes with 16.6 points per game on efficient 49.3% shooting, complemented by Barrington Hargress at 14.1 points and 4.4 assists. The team averages 79.9 points but allows 78.7 defensively, highlighting their vulnerability against elite offenses like Arizona's. Historically, the Wildcats hold a commanding edge in the series and won their earlier meeting this season convincingly. Still, home-court energy in Boulder could make things interesting if Colorado forces turnovers and limits Arizona's transition game.

Amazing to think that Arizona could play a sloppy game on the road and still win by double digits.

Record-breaking regular win total, led by a record breaking coach's end to his fifth season.

Let's hope that the winning continues throughout the next four weeks.
