The big12 Conference Tournament announcement drops this Tuesday.
Those in the know understand this is going to be a BIG deal.
It's BIG
I guess the rest of us peasants will
just have to wait to find out what it is.
If it's the Elam Ending, I'm done.
I'll take a wild guess and say that the tournament will be in Las Vegas

Not this time, no.
The announcement will be specific to the big12 Tournament conference tournament.
It will involve musical guests and celebrity involvement.
The details will be out today.

The big12 announced that the announcement has been delayed until tomorrow lol.

Will Yorkmark announce that he is planning to have a Dong game for the big12 fan?

The big12 will debut a state of the art full LED video sports floor for the big12 Tournament this season.
ASB's GlassFloor is a next-generation, high-performance sports floor that meets the standards of modern hardwood courts. Integrated LED technology beneath the playing surface unlocks dynamic, interactive digital graphics and capabilities impossible on traditional courts.
Visual effects displayed on the court could include:
Dynamic court designs
Shot charts
Interactive games for fans during timeouts
Immersive animations following key plays and moments

I want advertisements playing
on the court during live action.
I want a video of D-Will, throwing down on Dook.

Gonna need a truckload of Windex for this.
Seizure inducing ads broadcast from the floor was not what I envisioned the common fan clamoring for tbh.

Yormark, this guy doesn't get it.

It's pretty impressive...but there was a LOT of "slipping" on the glass floor throughout the women's tournament.
I'd be pissed if an Arizona player is injured because the conference is testing out a new "cool" surface.
Perhaps the Cats should lose the first game, avoid injury and rest for the real tourney...
Just opt out of the tournament for "safety concerns".

Opt out due to "an abundance of caution."

Yes. Yormark would give us Padilla every game for the next 10 years as retaliation.

Ooh Lawd what a failure and embarrassment.
Fire Yorkmark!

It was a worthy experiment. We may see it again next year when they've had more time to work on it.
Let's hope not Pryme.

If they can improve the problems, why not?
Even if it was improved it shouldn't ever return due to
1. Tradition
2. Avoid the national embarrassment of having to change it mid tournament
3. It's an unnecessary expense
4. Back lighting the players makes a harsh and unpleasant viewing experience
5. Slippery surface/safety risk
6. The NCAA Tournament will be played on traditional wood, why become accustom to anything other than that.

You listed problems. If you fix the problems, why not? Your #6 issue is the only criticism that holds.
I can appreciate the last minute change. Larry Scott would have been stubborn and allowed the dangerous surface to remain.
Yormark made a big change and I give them credit for "trying" to be innovative.
The truth hits hard...

The patriarchy strikes again
Those were my first thoughts. The women's tournament witnessed multiple slips/falls and the change didn't occur until the men's coaches complained.
Back to last year's hideous court.
Clearly Yormark doesn't know what to do with hard wood lol. https://x.com/i/status/2032575183844700484
Bwahahaha

Concrete & chain nets next year.
