Unstoppable Wildcats Roll TCU 86–73

Arizona stayed unbeaten with an impressive road win over TCU on Saturday, knocking off the Horned Frogs 86–73 in Fort Worth. The No. 1 Wildcats improved to 16–0 overall and 3–0 in Big 12 play, continuing their best start since the 2013–14 season. Arizona jumped out early, never trailing in the game and building a lead that reached 21 points in the first half. Freshman Koa Peat led the Wildcats with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Jaden Bradley and Anthony Dell'Orso added 17 points apiece in a balanced offensive effort. TCU was led by Tanner Toolson's 20 points off the bench, but the Horned Frogs struggled to consistently slow Arizona's attack.

Arizona's efficiency and depth once again proved to be the difference. The Wildcats controlled the paint, won the rebounding battle, and answered every TCU push with timely scoring. When the Horned Frogs trimmed the deficit to single digits midway through the second half, Arizona responded with a decisive run fueled by defensive stops and transition baskets. The Wildcats' poise and execution down the stretch highlighted why they remain the top-ranked team in the nation as conference play intensifies.

Arizona now turns its attention to a home showdown against in-state rival Arizona State. The Wildcats will look to protect their unbeaten record in a rivalry matchup that always brings added intensity. Arizona State enters the contest coming off a confidence-boosting win, but Arizona will aim to keep rolling behind its depth, defense, and efficient scoring. With Big 12 play ramping up, the matchup offers another opportunity for the Wildcats to make a statement in front of their home crowd.

Great win on the road, clutch baskets by ado an jaden, those shots by jaden with a defender in his face were great shots.

Here we go!
Another edition of What Reed Sees: TCU Edition!

Pros
Arizona's ability to get opponents in foul trouble is a very underrated skill (+)

Is this the game that Burries/Peat are able to star concurrently as a duo? (+)

Way to answer TCU's 7-0 run to open the 2nd half with your own 7-0 run! (++)

Cons
What is with the officials and these offensive fouls on Arizona? (-)

You matched TCU's 7-0 run to open the 2nd half. Then you let the go on a 13-3 run to get the crowd back into it? (-)

Comments
I commend this team for not being rattled when TCU continued to go on runs to keep the game in striking distance. They kept their composure and was able to get a stop and/or a bucket to keep the lead far enough for TCU to not be able to regain the lead.

I question whether Arizona would have been able to win this game without the late game heroics of Bradley. He went scoreless in the 1st half while Burries/Krivas/Peat racked up the points. Once the offense began to stagger, Bradley took the ball into his own hands and put up 15pts in the 2nd half to ultimately carry Arizona to the win.

Next up: at Arizona State

I am here for this new thing called

"What Reed Sees"

It isn't too far off what arxpert sees.

One thing to point out is I didn't like our players in foul trouble at all.

We finally played a game where holding our Opponent to "27" 1st half points came up and turned out to be very important. It enabled us to stumble which I am totally against, but it will happen...a lot... Tommy is not known to take Timeouts to stop bleeding until it is too late, so we needed that lead going into the half.

Another keyword used here was "on the road/road". Especially important to be mindful of playing disciplined when on the road, but we are #1 currently and Michigan had a close scare before they lost in their worst loss perhaps ever.

40-0 I believe when Ranked #1 or #2, playing an Unranked Opponent on their home floor.

They got caught in these last 2 games. I sincerely hope that this buys Tommy at least a game or two without the media making it seem like our accomplishments are meaningless or less than the best this season to date.

I think Tommy needs to continue to instill confidence in this team to hold teams down under 30-35pts in the 1st half no matter what. We won't always score 50pts in the 1st half. My aim would be to hold to 25-28pts and to try to score around 50. See where we fall with that mentality.

It starts and ends on the Defensive End.

It was a tight game. Tighter than the Box Score indicated. There were times where if we simply did not respond properly that we would have been in a 1 or 2 possession game with a Rowdy arena making Refs tense up and force calls to get made that typically get let go otherwise.

Good observations. We have a long way to go and this game exposed us big time. So hopefully the memo was sent and received in a WUN... a Road Win.

We are the Hunted. Everyone wants a "resume" inflating victory at all costs. Home, Away. High Scoring. Low Scoring. Hero Ball. Refs. You name it. Win, Survive, Advance. That is the formula overall.

Thanks Pert!
I figured I am locked in to the games.
I might as well take notes and then post them to keep my mind/points sharp when we talk post-game.

I see no points to refute in your message.
It seems like Arizona might have hit a wall?
Kansas State/TCU were wins, but very ugly wins at that.
I will continue to take wins and move on to the next though.
