Arizona Caps Undefeated Nonconference Play with 99–71 Win Over South Dakota State
The No. 1 Arizona Wildcats delivered a dominant performance Monday night, rolling past South Dakota State 99–71 at McKale Center to close nonconference play. Arizona controlled the game from the opening tip, taking a 51–35 lead into halftime and steadily extending the margin in the second half. The Wildcats improved to 13–0, marking their best start to a season since 2013–14, while showcasing their offensive efficiency and depth in a convincing 28-point win.
Arizona's balance was evident across the box score. Freshman Koa Peat led the Wildcats with 19 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, recording a double-double and anchoring the effort on both ends of the floor. Motiejus Krivas added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and six blocks, while Jaden Bradley posted a double-double of his own with 13 points and a career-best 10 assists. Arizona shot better than 50 percent from the field and dominated the glass, overpowering a South Dakota State team led by Kalen Garry's 20 points and Jaden Jackson's 18.
With the nonconference schedule complete, Arizona now shifts focus to Big 12 play, opening conference action with a road game against Utah this Saturday. The Wildcats will look to carry their undefeated momentum into league competition, where physicality and consistency become even more critical. Arizona's depth, rebounding strength, and unselfish offense will be key as the Wildcats aim to extend their unbeaten run against a tougher slate of opponents.
