7 Wildcats in Double Figures as Arizona crushes Bethune-Cookman 107–71
The No. 1 Arizona Wildcats continued their perfect start to the season with a dominant 107-71 victory over Bethune-Cookman on Monday night at McKale Center. Arizona improved to 12-0 overall and 7-0 at home, matching the program's best start since the 2014-15 season. The Wildcats were efficient offensively, shooting 57 percent from the field, scoring 50 points in the paint, and forcing 22 turnovers, which they turned into 36 points. Arizona built a 14-point halftime lead and steadily pulled away in the second half behind relentless pace and depth.
Arizona showcased its balanced attack with seven players scoring in double figures. Brayden Burries led all scorers with 20 points, while Ivan Kharchenkov added 14 and Jaden Bradley finished with 11 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. The Wildcats controlled the boards and consistently pressured Bethune-Cookman's ball handlers, limiting scoring opportunities and preventing any sustained momentum. Bethune-Cookman was led by Jordan Johnson's 18 points, but the visitors struggled to keep up with Arizona's size, speed, and efficiency.
Arizona will look to carry its momentum into its next game against South Dakota State on December 29 at McKale Center, closing out nonconference play. The matchup serves as a final tune-up before the Wildcats open Big 12 conference play in early January, beginning with a road test at Utah. With their depth, defensive intensity, and scoring balance on full display, Arizona enters the heart of the season positioned as one of the nation's most complete teams.
