Rebounding Dominance Powers Arizona Past San Diego State, 68–45
Top-ranked Arizona men's basketball continued its remarkable 2025–26 season with a convincing 68–45 victory over San Diego State on Saturday night in Phoenix. The Wildcats improved to 11-0 and maintained control throughout much of the Hall of Fame Series matchup, overcoming a sluggish offensive night with stifling defense and overwhelming rebounding. Arizona held the Aztecs to just 26.3% shooting from the field and an almost unthinkable 1-for-14 from three-point range, while dominating the glass 52–28 with 20 offensive rebounds that generated 14 second-chance points. Tobe Awaka was the standout inside, hauling in 15 rebounds to go with nine points, and five Wildcats finished in double figures — including 11 points apiece from Koa Peat and Jaden Bradley. Arizona's defensive effort helped erase an early deficit and spark a decisive second-half run en route to the win.
With the victory, Arizona now turns its attention to closing out non-conference play when it hosts Bethune-Cookman on Monday, December 22, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 PM MST. The matchup offers the Wildcats a chance to continue refining their rotation and build even more momentum before conference play begins. Arizona's combination of elite defense, rebounding dominance, and depth has fueled its perfect start, and the Wildcats will look to carry that same intensity into their final tune-up before the schedule stiffens.
That game vaulted our Defense up to #2 on KenPom. That's awesome, but always room to improve.

That is good. SDSU is a good team. They played hard against us. If we can close out this OOC undefeated then it would take a colossal meltdown to not be a 1 seed. Especially with Duke's stumble.
