Arizona Rolls to Fifth Straight Blowout, Defeats Abilene Christian 96–62

The No. 1 Arizona Wildcats continued their impressive run on Tuesday night with a 96-62 victory over the Abilene Christian Wildcats at McKale Center in Tucson. Arizona jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and never looked back, building a 51-31 advantage by halftime and maintaining control throughout the second half. The win improved Arizona to 10-0 on the season, marking their fifth straight victory by at least 20 points — the first time the program has accomplished that since the 2010-11 season. The Wildcats shot a blistering 66.7 % from the field and were 30-for-38 (78.9 %) from the free-throw line, while outrebounding Abilene Christian 38-23 and holding a dominant 44-22 edge in points in the paint.

Arizona's scoring was balanced with six players in double figures — freshman Brayden Burries led the way with 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting, Motiejus Krivas added 15, and Ivan Kharchenkov chipped in 11. Koa Peat, Jaden Bradley, and Tobe Awaka each scored 10 points, and Bradley's scoring came exclusively from the free-throw line. Abilene Christian (7-4) struggled offensively, finishing 20-of-56 (35.7 %) from the field, though Cbo Newton scored 17 and Joseph Scott had 15. Arizona's depth and efficient execution were key factors in its 5th straight blowout victory. Can the wildcats make it 6 blowouts in a row when they face an always formidable San Diego St squad this Saturday in Phoenix? The game before Christmas is always a tough one for teams to get up for, so we shall see.
