Wildcats Overpower ASU 23-7, Earns Third Rivalry Win in Four Years
Arizona powered past Arizona State 16–7 in today's Territorial Cup, riding a sharp performance from quarterback Noah Fifita, who threw for 286 yards and a third-quarter touchdown. The Wildcats controlled the pace with over 350 total yards, highlighted by Kris Hutson's 95 receiving yards on seven catches and a key one-yard touchdown run from Kedrick Reescano in the final minutes to secure the win. "We knew if we stayed patient, the big plays would come," Fifita said after the game, praising the offense's composure in a rivalry setting.
The defense was the real difference, forcing five turnovers and holding ASU to just 214 total yards, including only seven points — all scored in the first half. Arizona intercepted ASU quarterback Jeff Sims three times and recovered a fumble, shutting the Sun Devils out after halftime. "Our defense dominated the line of scrimmage and set the tone all day," Arizona coach Brent Brennan said. The victory gives Arizona its third win over ASU in four years and extends the Wildcats' late-season momentum as bowl selections approach.

True passion for this program. Brennan wants to be in Tucson for life and if the Cats can consistently make bowl games, the program/fanbase can continue to grow in the Big-12.
So proud of the staff and players for believing all season.

Great post KC !! 100%
ASU's QB definitely tanked the game, but in the words of many that have come before me - A win is a win is a win.
Noah didn't look good at all. Hopefully he can play a good game vs a real team and hopefully a real team doesn't have 40 players sitting out for the portal. We deserve to know where we stand amongst the National Preseason CFP hopefuls that all failed.
assu's defense is really good. He only missed a couple throws, which is minimal when your QB makes 45 attempts.
Zero picks and no injuries. Fifita did well, considering the constant pressure last night.

I'd agree if those turnovers were un-forced, but other than the botched handoff, the Arizona players made a play on the ball.
I said before the game it was a tough matchup for the offense. ASU was 2nd in rush defense and pressuring the passer, so not surprised with the struggle to score. Noah did better than I thought he would tbh.
Hoping the Committee skunks Texas and puts them up against us when BYU and Texas Tech both deserve to get in.
If not.. maybe we get Michigan. I don't want to see us land a creampuff. I also don't want to deal with LSU anymore. I thought it would be cool in theory, but they are yet another mess where we can't learn anything about ourselves much like Oklahoma.
Neither Texas or Michigan belong in the playoffs

Nope they don't, but I want a piece of their candy asses.
We may go down in flames, but I want to learn something about the team and also especially a team like Michigan... I want to see if we can hang with their run and short pass game.
Texas would probably slap us if they were taking it seriously.
Michigan is not special. They can lose to a more mobile style.
I think we earned playing better than USC and/or a team like Memphis or whatever is hanging around the top 20
