This Denver team was a 18.5 point underdog in its previous game against Colorado St and they beat them so this should be a tough match-up against a good scrappy team tonight.
Agreed. This team knows how to score and hustles.
Fortunately, they gave up 80+ points in 4 of their 5 games, so I expect a high scoring affair from both teams. It may get a little out of control, which will be a nice test for our guards, specifically Burries.
The four DU "big" men that contribute are only listed at 6'6" through 6'8"...so Krivas, Awaka and Peat should have a field day in the paint.

I can understand some fatigue, but allowing 45pts in the 2nd half is not a good look at all.
I get that Tommy had the team play with their food and let Burries and Aristode get their licks in tonight, but this is how complacency creeps in.
These proverbial cupcakes are sprinkled into the schedule incorrectly. If anything, Tommy should have had KC's favorite powerhouse Bethune come on down to T-Town.
I realize that teams like Bama, SDSU, and Auburn wanted to play Real Basketball this Feast Week, but I will surprised if we can survive undefeated before seeing SDSU. I hope we are though. I really do.

Arizona kept DU under their average, created a lead by pressing, took a few threes to get players into a rhythm and allowed the bench to get minutes (while surpassing the century mark).

Severe lack of Defensive Focus. Even the first points Denver scored were off of a boneheaded 3pt shot foul.
Denver should not have scored more than 40 points last night, but the kids coasted and that is the mentality that Tommy is breeding at the moment treating that game like a night off just letting Burries and Aristode play against "their level" of competition and perform to a decent standard.
If they wanted a night off and to be challenged, then guys like Nelson and Sidi should have garnered 30 minutes.
