Title: Arizona gets outplayed in McKale vs Utah State
Post by: arxpert on November 07, 2025, 11:22:18 PM
Title says it all.

We are entering dangerous waters.

Unless anyone wants to think there are players taking a bag to tank the 1st half and props... but I am not prepared to go there yet. Arizona players should be well compensated enough to not have to do that.

Ole Dixie gets credit for showing up.

No one is going to overpower us, but they certainly gave Tommy enough coaching points.

Krivas doesn't belong on the floor for more than relief duties of Tobe Rodman, but that will never work in Big time matchups.

We are really missing Hankie V this year and screw Caleb Love for taking a cut to broker the deal to send Henri to UNC.

Did your professor at asu teach you the definition of "outplayed"?

If losing by 26 is outplaying an opponent, then Texas absolutely outplayed Dook on Tuesday.

Maybe we should have paid Henri to not leave?
We seem to have money for other players.

Oh well. Tom lost the locker room anyway.

The season is over. Not even sure why we take the floor.   Maybe next year !

By now, I can decipher your real message in the extremist nature you post in brother.
Yes, Arizona could lose against a team like Utah State.
The offense is what is going to carry this team when the defense is still waking up.

Krivas DOES belong on the floor because he is the only rim-protector on this roster.
The problem is they do not get him enough touches on offense to warrant him being on the floor.
They treat him as if he is Rudy Gobert, but his offensive game is much more advanced than that.
It only seems like they try to target him once the game slows down, or Lloyd realizes that he has not touched the ball in a while.

I know Lloyd notices because they will give Awaka an iso on the block off the screen as soon as he comes in the game.
What happened to Krivas shooting that 10-12ft jumper off the screen that he did last season?
There are things that worked that Lloyd has ignored thus far.
It is clear that he is letting this team play while drawing up plays specifically for Peat and giving Bradley/Burries/Dell'Orso and Kharchenkov the green light to get busy on the perimeter.

If you can draw up plays for Awaka, I hope he does it for Krivas too because having a 7'1 C just for defense is pointless.
You might as well start Awaka and lose the shot-blocking and rim-protection.

They did. It took the Refs giving Boozer about 15 points or so for free in the 2nd half to win that game. Nothing was played differently about the 1st half vs 2nd half. The whistles just came out conveniently.

Impossible.

Caleb Love had to secure his 300k in the brokered deal.

You always take the floor. That is non negotiable. Still Men at the end of the day. Unless they choose not to be as this is 2025 going on 2026 so who knows what someone wants to be identified as in this dribble to dribble world. Be what you want, but please try hard to be consistent is all I ask even if you are consistently inconsistent.

Giving up like the Ayton Arizona team did?

In reference to Texas/Dook...Miller's team only dished out SIX assists in the entire game. They turned it over 6 more times and shot 10% lower in every category.

No referee excuses. They were outplayed by a mile. For a coach that was a former point guard, it's hard to create an offense that can design six scoring plays in a forty minute game. Ouch.
