Title says it all. But I will expand.
Tommy was put on the shoulders of the #1 Overall Pick Koa Peat. Yes, #1. I don't care if he goes #1 or not. Whoever wins the Lottery needs to take a hard look in the mirror before they decide Dysbanta, Darryn Peterson, Cenac or anyone else goes ahead of Koa.
When you have a Sure Thing, you don't fuck around. You take him and let him become a better version of Klaw Leonard eventually.
Burries needs to work on staying on the court. We learned a big lesson tonight thankfully in a miraculous win. That Booger Fland 3pt shot goes down almost every time in those scenarios as the season goes on and especially in THE MADNESS.
Crunch time looked horrible. I was nearly 1 shot away from being CRESTFALLEN.
Ivan-Ka proved he is worthy of playing. An excellent Flopper and a very tough player at the same time. I see his game.
Florida, with Clayton last season, would have played just about the same as tonight... however, Jaden Bradley proved that having a VETERAN PG is a word 10x more impactful than Crucial. It is basically Mission Critical.
No Bradley... this was a 20pt Loss without a doubt IMHO.
Del'Taco looks bigger to me. He must have hit the weight room. I think that will pay dividends over the course of the season.
Tobe Awaka Rodman is a good player to have off the bench. It is troubling to think Caleb Love brokered the deal that got Henri over to UNC back in last January. If we had Henri right now, this would be game over territory. Holy guacamole.
Tommy Lloyd needs to learn how to utilize X's and O's. There are no more excuses. Koa can't be the only weapon. 30ppg is not "all year". It is "when we need it", but I want to see Team Basketball too. Tommy is definitely on the Hot Seat if he can't actually Coach. Being a nice guy is not enough anymore. I'll take Bruce Pearl out of retirement in a heartbeat.
We can only go up from here.
This was about as bad as I can fathom this team playing all season.
ONWARD AND UP
Beardown.
We just beat #3... It'll get worse.
But not tonight. Tonight we are joyous.
Based on the title, I didn't have to read the initial post.
We were down 12.
We scored out of every timeout.
We outhustled the defending champs.
Our bench supported the kids on the floor throughout the entire 40 minutes.
Arizona outcoached and outplayed the #3 team in the nation. If you think otherwise, you're just searching for excuses.
Gonna skip this one. I'll read the next.

We play 10 of the preseason top 20. We play the last 5 national champions. We do this while starting 3 freshman. There will be some let downs and losing a close game last night would not have been devastating (unless you love in Florida and might have listen to both fans give you grief). I expect that we'll lose several games this year, mostly due to inexperience, If we don't it'll be primarily because of coaching.
As for Bruce Pearl, the man's a cheater, f him.

Or here's an idea : Just for once celebrate a great Cat victory ! First game of the season, on the road, vs # 3 and defending champion that was favored to win. BTFD !

You can "ignore" anyone you want manually, you don't even need to go into the settings of a website to do it!

Opposite. We were outcoached. We just played a more efficient game. Barely. Florida missed enough open shots. They could have won by 15 easily. Tommy had no plan heading down the stretch. He went full jesus take the wheel mode.
Yeah, I'm sure the game plan involved players slipping on the wet court during in-bounds plays.
Even the announcers verbally expressed their praise towards Lloyd's ability to adjust throughout the game.
Our size, depth and athleticism in the frontcourt didn't match up to UF on paper. Regardless, our staff created opportunities to find open buckets and put up 93 points.

How did our Size not measure up? Krivas was basically the biggest player out there. Koa is not a normal "SF" for College. He is small in NBA terms, but he is capable of holding his ground and pushing offensively vs 6'10" College Stick Bugs.
Our "Staff" didn't go out there and put the ball in the hoop. Tommy was out of his league down the stretch and Bradley is just a great veteran PG to have as I said in the March Madness Clemson loss, he went "Maniac Mode", well that is who he is. A willing Driver who plays more like a D-Wade trying to get to the Rim than a "Caleb Love" who relied on Chucking.
We will need more than Koa Peat if we want to finish in the Top 8 of the Big12. This Conference is not a joke.
Our Non-Conference Slate looks hard on paper, but we will find out if it walks the walk.
Ivan was playing PF at times. Arizona played tough basketball against a solid competitor.
The Cats will lose a good amount of games this season. The young players need time to become consistent, our frontcourt isn't deep and our schedule is brutal. We play HALF of Bilas' top-18 that he released today...and we're one of the 18.
It'll be fun to see whether the team can consistently improve as the season progresses.

Mark your calendar for 1/21, the return of the Kerr in his SIXTH season as a Professional College Basketball Player.

I am just speaking to what I saw.
If you think I am not happy about the Win, then that would be incorrect.
It is far better to write this up having the Win than having to write the same thing up with a Loss. The truth is the truth. We were lucky to escape our mistakes this time. I think they will learn from them. The execution down the stretch was how you find yourself in an Elite 8 against a 33-1 type Illinois up 15 or so with 3min to go and go on to lose the game.
Learn the lesson now.
Or... just stay delusional.

Or just see how we got outcoached today by ole Dixie State and the talent alone carried the team
