In my opinion Lloyd brought in a strong freshman class, that have alot of talent, i do wish arizona could brought in one experienced wing after carter left, but it didn't happen, I know also some players were asking for some ridiculous amount of money, that may be why Lloyd didn't recruit the portal much.
A $300M gift from one of our supposed billionaire donors could be a drop in the bucket.
Enough to compete to be a top 10 team? Absolutely Enough to compete for championship? No way to know just yet. It's a high risk relying on freshmen. Agreed we can't afford top players on the wire / portal. Not to mentioned, I'm not convinced hired guns are going to bring banners unless you go berserk on paying many multiple top guys and win on sheer talent, which hasn't happened, yet.
Am I happy with the team on paper so far, absolutely. We have talent at each position. I realistically can't ask for more than that. Will I be disappointed exiting at 16, very much. Will I be disappointed exiting at 8, slightly, but only because I'm a fan.

Yes, he did.
Will he unlock this roster by unleashing the foreign prospects in Gueye/Kharchenkov?
Only time will tell because he has shown the inability to develop/play them while at Arizona.

Minutes are based on performance in practice, Tommy plays the guys that play best in practice, period. If euro guys aren't getting minutes it's because they find out real quick that kids in America are far more talented and they can't hang. Having said that, I think Karchenkov is legit and will see some real playing time
Naterade is spot-on.
Lute, Miller AND Lloyd all valued effort in practice...and rarely gave significant minutes to guys that didn't hustle. There's a reason that Fogg continually saw the court, despite not being nearly as athletic as Josiah.
Players transfer in today's landscape. It wasn't uncommon when the Cats lost a talented kid that didn't "try". I love that our HC's justified minutes. We lost Bynum, Akot, Victor, Chol, Momo, Kriisa, Bal and plenty of others for various reasons.
Hopefully, we find a nice balance of floor-time for the freshmen because this roster is unique. I'm intrigued to see who earns a starting role...

This is the problem I have and will be keeping my eye on.
Do we need to wait until January 4th for Tommy to "wake up" or will he adjust sooner this year showing Coaching Growth? Time will tell if he has learned from his mistakes.
