What I will say is when the media asked him "What made him so confident that Arizona could win the Big 12 and National Championship?"
I wish he would have made a reference to Calipari's 2012 Kentucky team, and last year's Duke team.
They went 35-4, won the ACC regular season title, won the ACC tournament, made it to the Final Four and a shot away from going into OT and possibly to their 1052nd championship game.
Having a lot of freshmen mean nothing as long as said freshmen (1) know their roles, (2) accept their roles and (3) play their roles on the floor.

I do not believe Arizona is good enough to win the Big 12 this season.
I do not believe Arizona is good enough to make it to a Final Four this season.
The only way this will change will depend on the unknown commodities in the 4-6 freshmen that could play this season.

There is no reason that Arizona can't win in any scenario other than Tommy's coaching ability.

Well, that is the problem.
A lot of us mentioned how Bryant should have played more.
We all knew around December that Bryant should have been in the starting lineup.
Lloyd is going to be his biggest mountain to climb when it comes to him cutting his freshmen loose and stop relying so much on battle-tested veterans that are not as good as the thoroughbreds sitting on the bench?

If Lloyd is going to make this season work, AND get Arizona into that top tier of programs that these 5* OAD prospects want to go to?
This 2025-26 season is going to be critical with so many prospects that Arizona is trying to target in this 2026 class.
