CFB SEASON PREVIEWS: Arizona Wildcats

- Brent Brennan enters season 2 as the HC. While Seth Doege & Danny Gonzalez enter season 1 as the OC & DC.

- Arizona returns 66% of their production from last season ranking them 16th in Bill Connelly's #'s. They bring in the 9th ranked recruiting class & the 11th ranked portal class in the BIG12.

- Outgoing offensive transfers include, Dorian Thomas (TE) NM, Brayden Dorman (QB) CSU-Pueblo, AJ Jones (WR) MTSU, Rayshon Luke (RB) Fresno St, JT Hand (OL) Oregon St, Brandon Johnson (RB) Northern CO, Anthony Garcia (QB) USU, Wendell Moe Jr (OL) TN, Raymello Murphy (WR) UConn, Jackson Holman (WR) Wyoming, Malachi Riley (WR) SJSU, Keyan Burnett, Jonah Rodriguez (OL) SW College, Elijah Payne (OL) Delaware St, Adam Damante (QB) TSU, & Leif Magnuson (OL) Cal Poly.

- Incoming offensive transfers include, Luke Wysong (WR) Arizona, Cameron Barmore (WR) Mercyhurst, Tre Spivey III (WR) K-St, Jordan Brown (OL) GT, Tristan Bounds (OL) Michigan, Ke'ena Decambra (OL) Hawaii, Ismail Mahdi (RB) Texas St, Ty Buchanan (OL) TT, Kris Hutson (WR) WSU, Braedyn Locke (QB) Wisconsin, Javin Whatley (WR) UT-Chatt, Mike Mitchell (RB) Utah, Issac Perez (OL) & Quincy Craig (RB) Portland St, Chance Roberts (OL) UAlbany, Keona Peat (OL) ASU, & Keyan Burnett (TE). Locke will be a nice QB2 addition. 2,713 passing yards & 18 TDs over career. Mahdi is a RB I'm very high with 2,322 rushing yards & 14TDs in his 2 season at Texas St. Craig also accounted for 602 rushing yards, 5TDs, 5.2 YPC in FCS ball. Both elevate the backfield. Wysong 840 receiving yards, TD, 12.2 YPC last season, Hutson 683 receiving yards, 2TDs, 12.6 YPC last season, Whatley 697 receiving yards, 6TDs, 12.4 YPC last season in FCS ball & Spivey give Fifta a group of experienced WRs throw to. I think Barmore is another exciting skill position receiver who had 978 receiving yards, 13TDs, 13.4 YPC at FCS level last season this time at TE position with Burnett. Decambra (RG) & Buchanan (RT) will most likely start on OL. I think it could be an underrated skill position team.

- Returning on offense with stats from last season includes, Noah Fifita (QB) 5,827 passing yards & 43TDs over last two seasons. If his weapons work out '23 #'s are more likely than this past season where he had a higher INT rate. Kedrick Reescano (RB) 359 receiving yards, TD, 4.6 YPC returns to backfield. Sam Olson 2TDs & 15.1 YPC (TE), Chris Hunter (WR) 323 receiving yards, 3TDs, 9.2 YPC, Devin Hyatt (WR) 15.6 YPC, Rex Haynes (WR), Jeremiah Patterson (WR) 2TDs & 7.5 YPC etc all return to receiving corp. FR WR Isaiah Mizell could be starting OL

- Outgoing defensive transfers include, Bryce Echols (DL) Nevada, Jai-Ayviauynn Celestine (CB) FIU, Demetrius Freeney, Sterling Lane (EDGE), (CB) & Keanu Mailoto (DL) Boise St, Jacob Manu (LB), Tacario Davis (LB) & Ta'ita'i Uiagalelei (DL) UW, Tristan Davis (EDGE) Iowa Central, Kamuela Ka'aihue & Justin Flowe (LB) UNLV, Emmanuel Karnley (CB) Miami, Nick Fernandez (DL) UTRGV, Gunner Maldonado (S) K-St, Cyrus Durham (EDGE) Akron, Isaiah Johnson (DL) UNC, & Elijah Brown (DL) CO St.

- Incoming defensive transfers with stats last season include, Blake Gotcher (LB) NW St 162 tackles, Chancellor Owens (EDGE) NW St, Jshawn Frausto-Ramos (S) Stanford, Michael Dansby (CB) Leroy Palu (NT) Cerritos College, SJSU 30 solos & 2INTs, Tiaoalil Savea (DL) & Jay'Vion Cole (CB) Texas, Riley Wilson (EDGE) Montana #3 rusher in FCS, Deshawn McKnight (DL) UTM, Ayden Garnes (CB) WVU, Max Harris (LB) TX St & Malachi Bailey (EDGE) Alcorn 28 sacks & 46.5 TFLs in career.

- Returning on D with stats last season, Treydan Stukes (NB), Genesis Smith (S) 39 solos, 2FF, 3INT, Dalton Johnson (S) 47 solos, Marquis Groves-Killbrew (CB) 22 solos, Taye Brown (LB) 29 solos, Chase Kennedy (LB), Dominic Lolesio (DE), & Tre Smith (DE) 4.5 sacks.

I thought Keyon Burnett was coming back...

Our returning DB's are actually pretty good.  With Salave'a working the defensive front, I'm cautiously optimistic that our entire D will be solid, pending injuries.

Our team likely hinges upon the depth of our O-Line.  If Fifita has time to throw, Arizona can pull off some surprise wins.

Burnett is back. They must have missed that as that's pretty big news with his connection with Noah.

Four more players added to the FB roster today.

Australian Punter Isaac Lovison
DBs Aiden Miller and Jacob Buggie from Brophy Prep in Phoenix as walk-on players
DT Kaleb Jones from Phoenix which is huge because we are so thin on the DL.
