Love the way Lloyd schedules our OOC. We'll be playing at least 3 top ten teams.

We played Bama in Phoenix, "neutral site", that was completely taken over by Bama fans in 2023. 11 rank vs 3 rank. We won the game under Thomas Yoid.

Nate Oats defeated Sean Miller in the FBI Scandal Year back when he was at Buffalo. The year that created NIL for all intents and purposes. The year Book Richardson had to die for Bill Self's sins and Miller had to end up fired for the Ghouls to keep their jobs.

There is a storied history.

I was there - definitely wasn't taken over by Bama fans, more than half of the arena consisted of Arizona fans, plus quite a few neutrals.

Awesome game though. Tommy got pissed at the crowd for not standing a few times, also cursed out the Italian assistant coach we had for a while. Emotional atmosphere and great game.

The legend, Rick Fois. BDU misses Coach Fois every day. Tom should have listened to him more.

Riccardo Foos? I mean Fois. I think the fact it wasn't 80/20 and Tommy having to get pissed at the crowd speaks louder volumes. It also speaks about the sentiments I hold about McKale to all of those who hoard the best seats, but aren't capable of keeping up the energy and always end up in a "what have you done for me lately" type of mood when things are not "showtime".

Pretentious fanbases around the country think they have a Home Court Advantage when it is really isn't that distinctive.

Yep.  Lute did also.  Miller - not so much

Miller scheduled a lot of marquee games. He didn't schedule us like Gonzaga which has to schedule like they do in order to be considered for higher than an 8 seed, but that is what Tommy is used to seeing and now is trying to do with Arizona.

However, since Tommy is hellbent on scheduling like this, we all can't really go into a full meltdown when the team is 5-5 after 10 games with wins only over the mid majors and maybe 1 over an Alabama, but then losses against 4 big time ranked opponents.

Last year, that killed the spirit and morale of the team. Fans were really pissed off. I was mad Tommy didn't have the coaching skills to back up such a slate.

The team only got better when it had to. Not because it was Coached well.

We got smashed by Duke twice with both of our "looks". The one with SloMo and the better version with Henri. It is astonishing to me how Tommy chose SloMo over Henri in the end.

Tommy refused to get Carter involved last year. but I have to believe Tommy isn't stupid. He knew Dalen Terry showed up to the combine and simply got measured like being fitted for a Tuxedo and then got drafted like #16

What's done is done, but I won't see a point in rioting if we aren't 12-2 through 14 games with 2 losses by 1pt and a buzzer beater to #1 OVERALLLLLL Florida or whatever. A casual 8-6 record when over-scheduling like is the new Arizona way under Tommy Lloyd in the Big12 / Power4 era.

For me, it is fantastic. I would rather watch Arizona play "Florida, Alabama, Gonzaga, UCLA, Mich St, Maryland, UConn, Marquette, Indiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, Auburn, Texas, etc" all OOC... then play our Big12 Gauntlet.

March Madness is typically 1 or 2 Mid Major matchups, then those types of opponents the rest of the way. Highly unpredictable and generally short lived. Even in a Final 4 run.

I would rather see Arizona in top tier relevant games for 99% of the season and then take any icing on the cake in the Big Dance.

The Big12 Tournament is already stronger than any March Madness Run would be.
