Title: The real questions with Arizona FB are about coaching
Post by: Little George on August 26, 2024, 06:45:34 AM
It seems nobody knows anything about Brennan?
Everyone questioned Fisch too!
Fisch did an awesome job of building Arizona.
Now that Fisch and staff are gone what?

Here are a few questions that you can think about.

Why was Fisch so he'll bent on getting de Laura back into the lineup?
Who was responsible for the Borjon to RT Savaiinaea to RG move that nearly cost us the Oklahoma game?
Why was Nansen leaving Arizona?
Why was Akina leaving Arizona?
Why did Fisch burn the red shirt opportunities of Speedy Luke and others?
Who kept calling bone headed plays on a regular bases?

There are many more, but

Think about these obvious ones!

Babers, I agree. I feel good about the rest of the coaches.

The real questions about AZ football are the lines, especially the size and depth @ D line

While Fisch built well with players, he lacked the ability to make needed changes at critical times. ie benching de Laura. The OC was also involved in this.

Yes CC, as far as the players are concerned, but like you said, Babers is the biggest question mark.

As a HC Babers did not control the O or call plays. As an OC at Arizona, he actually did a fair job. Yes that was a LONG time ago. Can he do it? We will find out by week 5, four games in!

Although Babers wasn't strictly in charge of offense at Syracuse, his Orange teams had stellar offensive production.

I'm not worried about his ability to allow this team to thrive.  As LG mentioned, the depth of our front 7 on defense could be a concern if anybody goes down.  Our starters are stellar and we have some nice young backups but they aren't proven yet.

Otherwise, this team is stacked and I couldn't imagine Brennan as a bad clock manager.  Fisch was awful at controlling the tempos/personnel within games, which was frustrating.

Long term you have to wonder if Brennan can consistently get the Jimmy and Joes, but for this season he has some talent to work with.

I bet Brennan would have gone for 2 against USC.

Clearly Carroll.

I think we have an upgrade now.

Why was Nansen leaving Arizona?
Why was Akina leaving Arizona?

Obvious that they both disliked Fisch! They were leaving to rid themselves of the 🐟.
Nansen got a nice day raise! Nansen took two DL guys with him.
After the 🐟 left Akina was clear to come back. Great move!

I truly wonder why Carroll left. If he stayed under Brennan without the "co"-coordinator tag, he'd look like a genius with Fifita at the helm and likely earn a HC job elsewhere.

He has a bright football mind and we'll see if he lands another job before Fisch jumps to the next gig.
