Title: Arizona will still be a #1 or #2 seed
Post by: WILD on February 23, 2024, 01:25:00 AM
I know everyone is raging about Arizona losing to Washington St, but the Wildcats will still be a 1 or 2 seed and all that matters is going on a run in the tournament.

Let's all just breathe and I'm going to go ahead and remind everyone that the 1997 Arizona national championship team went into the NCAA tournament fresh off of losses and won the whole damn thing.

All that matters is March Madness and his team can beat anyone on any given night.

Rant over and BTFD!

t. lloyd is 0-4 in one possession games this season.

WSU was picked to finish 10th in the PAC and hasn't won a conference Championship since 1941

Maybe someone, like say the six million dollar man - can draw up a final shot play.

Wouldn't that be nice?

Or somebody could ensure that there isn't a puddle on the basketball court, which would allow Love to at least try and score.

Yes, we don't want to be beat by a puddle!

This isn't 1997. That team had a PG.

Or maybe Tommy can learn to draw up better plays instead of saying "Love, dribble out the clock, drive in, see if you can make a circus shot and if you fall on your ass then try to kick it out. Don't try to kick it out on the drive into 2 or 3 defenders. Only wait until you fall down to even look to pass".

The other thread already had a graphic, showing that Arizona has the most points per possession out of a timeout (in conference), which is proof that Lloyd knows how to draw up plays.

And infographics can be misleading. How many game winning plays has Tommy drawn up this season in total? Just curious. Did we even hit 1? Or did we win by virtue of teams missing their final shots?

Don't get information twisted. We all know Tommy doesn't draw up game winning plays.

He prepared the team to win 81 games thus far in his short career. Sounds like his X's and O's are fine.

I don't agree with you ignoring the fact of the matter. Tommy's lack of X's and O's when needed is a problem. Talking about 81 wins where 99% of them didn't require X's and O's in any sort of clutch moment is a bit cocky to say the least. Unless you truly feel we will win the Big Dance by an average of 15-20ppg per matchup then I don't see how you can sit there and be ignorant to the fact Tommy just says "Give the ball to Caleb and watch him get tripled" as his play design.

The sample size is small but if you want to watch a replay of any big Gonzaga game over their successful history, Lloyd is holding the clipboard in almost all of them.

LOL so now you are going to take away Mark Few's success to help your argument

I think the progress of Gonzaga since Lloyd left says a lot. Few is an amazing coach but he prioritizes his family over basketball, which I respect 100%. Lloyd did more than people knew in Spokane.
