This is what my eyes told me when I watch the games.
Now we'll see if Lloyd does what's best for the team.
This is a good stat, but its not so much about the stat as it is the style of play. Love attacks the basket. Keshad attacks the basket. KJ Lewis attacks the basket. Pelle attacks the basket.
Bradley attacks the basket.
Boswell does NOT attack the basket.
It is really that simple. Everything opens up when your guards attack the basket. INCLUDING Spot Shooting 3pt looks like Keshad's corner 3 or Pelle's "2 O'Clock" 3pt spot that he loves so much.
Caleb will take one from anywhere any time like Hibachi (Gilbert).
Boswell can be the best spot 3pt shooter in the nation if he just plays his role. The saddest part about this is Boswell is phenomenal from the line... (so we think). He limits himself by not trying to get to the stripe. However, in volume, maybe he isn't a 90% type FT shooter. Maybe he is worse. We will never know though.
Never seen a PG that doesn't like to get to the line. Makes no sense.
You never saw Kriisa? To his credit, Boswell attacked the basket twice and actually drew contact in the Wazzu game but it was during the portion of the matchup that the refs let them play.
He definitely needs to be more aggressive inside the arc. Hopefully we see a variety of new moves in his game.
One of the many reasons that I don't watch the NBa is that Boswell would be a typical PG if he just stands along the perimeter of/when he's in the league. Iso ball is common so he can take those deep threes and make a nice living.

Boswell doesn't have the length to be taking 3's like you think in the NBA. He will be closed out on so easily. He will need to play more like CP3 and be smart with his size and passing there.
Also Boswell learned too much from Kerr. He is the new Kerr. We don't need that. We shouldn't want that. If he wants to be Kerr then he needs to play the Gabe York, Kyle Fogg Role and wait for Bradley, Love, Pelle, or KJ to kick it out to him for a set 3pt shot catch+shoot. I don't want that to be his game for us, but that's what he is forcing at the moment.
A lack of Mamba Mentality is major for any Guard. Especially one with the "keys to the high octane offense". His stat lines make no sense lately. Get to the line, create for others, or go to the bench.
In the playoffs, Boswell would struggle to separate himself while taking jumpers but during the regular season, defense is absent in the NBA.

I would take Boswell on my Wizards. As his number 1 hater currently that says a lot. I don't want to see him assimilated into the Miami Heat where he would actually fit in as an above average player. I would prefer to see him get a chance to be a Star.
PS - Jaime Jaquez has been an amazing Rookie for Miami. I was big on saying he had no chance in the NBA, but certain situations fit certain players like a glove and Miami hit it with Jacquez. I thought he would struggle at his position defensively vs the Star players that are at his Size/Position, but like you said, the NBA is not really defensive oriented until the Playoffs and Miami does a good job with mixing in Zones too which helps a lot.
