Is there a possibility that Arizona goes anywhere besides San Antonio?
I'd love to make plans and book a trip before the official announcement because hotel/car/flight accommodations are pretty reasonable right now.
The Cats exceeded expectations and likely won too many games to play the Holiday Bowl, Vegas Bowl or Sun Bowl.
We aren't jumping Oregon in the polls, even if they get blown out by UW (which they won't). Regardless, can THREE Pac-12 schools qualify for a New Year's Six Bowl? If so, Arizona would likely need Alabama/Texas to get blown out and Louisville to lose before we jump to #12.
I don't see that scenario happening, so the Alamo seems to be a lock. Am I wrong here? Can I book flights for my kiddos???

I want to see this team vs Penn State. It won't happen, but overall we will not learn anything about Arizona by playing "Oklahoma". A contrast of styles is what we need and what would benefit the program the most.

What are you talking about? Oklahoma is a very good team and a storied program. Beating them would do wonders for AZ football.
They'll likely be ranked #10 when the bowl season begins. OU beat UT and their offense is fun to watch.
A shootout win in San Antonio would do wonders for our program.
Nobody has taken Penn St seriously since they were literally caught with their pants down.

I will maintain that I will learn Nothing as in Absolute Zero about Arizona Football if we face Oklahoma. It will be an Ice Cream Sandwich. A pure novelty. I have seen what I need to see against teams that play shoot outs. I want to see a defensive struggle and see how we fare against a team that likes to run the ball and play defense + how their defense does against our style of offense. Styles make fights. I speak for myself and that's all there is to it.
You're acting like we haven't played any good defensive teams. UCLA and Utah are both top-15 in overall defense and we beat them easily with a freshman QB.
Our 10th win of the season wouldn't be discounted by anybody on earth except for you, especially considering the fact that Arizona has beaten more ranked teams than any other program in 2023.

I want to see a true contrast in styles. It's that simple. There is a level above what we play at and I want to see if we can hang with it.
Fair enough. I think that Washington was that level above and we had a realistic chance to win that game.
Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon and Georgia are the only other programs that are a step up from the tier of OU, Texas, FSU, Mizzou, Bama, etc.
Arizona should be able to hang with everybody in FBS. Especially with time to rest between now and late December.
