Title: Michigan State
Post by: arxpert on November 06, 2023, 09:30:35 PM
Tommy's scheduling of Michigan State now holds zero weight for me. (Insert the people who will squawk that it was only 1 game and they will be better when we see them). Yeah Yeah, heard it all before.

Maybe Tommy will use it as an opportunity to learn something from Izzo. However, after what I witnessed tonight, Michigan State is just a "Name".

Lloyd can't control whether Sparty wins or loses. Arizona set up competitive OOC matchups.

They were a top-5 team and will unquestionably make the NCAA tournament.

Nobody blamed Miller/Reynolds for scheduling UCONN in 2017. It wasn't our staff's fault that the Huskies were sub-.500 garbage.

Kind of insane Michigan State went 1/20 from 3. I am bummed because I would of much rather been the underdog when we eventually play them.

I blame Lloyd for Michigan State's choke job. He should have known this was going to happen. Duke must be feeling pretty dumb right now too for scheduling Michigan State.

Their 3pt shooting was unbelievably bad, but their FT line ineptitude is really what cost them the game.

MSU
Sometimes those outside shots do not fall. Team has to adjust and find a way to score.
I hear the "shooter has to shoot" line, but good teams/players find what is working and takes what is given them. It is a constant challenge every team has in maintaining focus, effort, energy, control, and balance. This is not pickup ball. Coaches can and should be in control, but they are not on the court. We have seen this over the years and have blessed to have some great floor Generals like Bibby, Gardner, Reeves, Terry, etc...
This is what helps our team stand out this year! Great guard play brings great success!
