Title: WRs
Post by: Little George on August 28, 2023, 01:14:49 PM
Rated as a top 10 ranked unit nationally this group should be a clear strength.

Yes, we lost Singer. We brought in some very good talent as well. One late transfer win along with some very good recruits coming in. IF our QB can get these guys the ball we should see lots of scoring and lots of fireworks for the home games. Excitement for sure. With de Laura knowing the playbook and the year to bond, the chemestry between the QB/WRs should be at it's best.

#2 Jacob Cowing

One player I do not need to say much about, but I am sure happy he came home to Arizona from UTEP. Big things in small packages rings true here. Pre-season 2nd team all-American!

#4 Tetairoa McMillen

https://arizonawildcats.com/sports/football/roster/tetairoa-mcmillan/15112

Some are over-looking this kid, but he will be one of the very best WRs in the PAC this year! He is under-rated for sure. Because of the other receivers on this team and a solid run game, there will not be too many players that can cover him one on one. He has added strength and speed in the off season. Do not sleep on this kid. He is a star in the making. The inside word coming from camp was that he was "Un-coverable".

#5 Montana Lemonious-Craig

https://arizonawildcats.com/sports/football/roster/montana-lemonious-craig/15400

Coming from Colorado where he was the star of the Colorado Spring Game we might question if he just had a good Spring Gmae? Remember that the Colorado passing game was not very good at all if it was anything at all before Dion took over. This kid falls into our laps to fill the hole by Springer? Let me say I believe there was a small chemestry issue with Springer. I hated to see him leave and even more that he went to USC, but that was his childhood dream school. He is gone and we nave a new star in the making in town. Montana is that guy! Everything coming out of Fall Camp says this kid is the real deal hidden at Colorado because their passing game sucked. Because he will line up across from McMillen with Cowing in the slot? Yea, I like his chances of turning in an outstanding year. I think McMillen takes the numbers Singer had last year and Montana covers more than McMillen had last year increasing our passing output from last year.

#12 Kevin Green Jr

This kid was suppose to start in Cowings place at slot when Cowing moved outside. The only knock on him was consistancy and ball security. The big play potential is there. He will play some slot behind Cowing.

#16 AJ Jones

Young man has shown great improvement since being on campus and should see the rotation as an outside receiver this year.

#10 Malachi Riley

https://arizonawildcats.com/sports/football/roster/malachi-riley/15267

Kid has opened eyes from first day in camp and is a play maker every down. Great potential and will see some time. Remember that the WR position was not rotated often last year, so that will yet to be seen as for how much action he actually sees this year. Future is bright!

#15 Carlos Wilson

Flipped from Utah late but it is clear why Utah wanted him so badly. Game changer here! I certainly hope we see him at least returning some kicks and punts this year. Kid is electric.

#80 Devin Hyatt

https://arizonawildcats.com/sports/football/roster/devin-hyatt/15275

This guy came in very late as a walk-on player. He had offeres just about everywhere, but by the time he wanted to make his decision most of those teams had filled their WR slots. He came to Arizona as a walk-on. Love having him on our roster. He has great potential.

#31 Deric English

https://arizonawildcats.com/sports/football/roster/deric-english/15392

What a gift Deric is to our program. He comes in as a Walk-on. He is recovering from two injuries and has come here to go through our rehab program. He will be on scholarship once he is cleared to play, so expect next year to have one less scholarship available. I do remember the exact stipulation for going on scholarship, but there is a plan.

Both English and Hyatt have huge potential and could definitely be future stars here at Arizona. While they may not contribute as much early, I listed them so that you can see the depth of talent on our future roster as well.

This unit is rated a top ten unit nationally and I believe they could be the best in the PAC. Either way, this years team should have great success in the passing game.

Add this one to the WR room as he will definitely play this year.

#9 Jackson Holman

Jackson has been an impressive freshman receiver and could see some PT this year IF the staff decides to use it's depth.
