Arizona routes UAE Select 127-90 with 7 scoring in double figures
The Wildcats beat UAE Select 127-90 in an exhibition, their second of three games on the trip. The scrimmage, played in front of roughly 40 people inside the Mubadala Dome, and with 300 or so watching on YouTube, marked the first time a college basketball team had played in the United Arab Emirates.
As for the game itself, Arizona was clearly the more polished group. Sophomore wing Filip Borovicanin and freshman center Motiejus Krivas led the Wildcats with 17 points apiece, with Krivas making all eight field goal attempts and Borovicanin adding nine rebounds and five assists. Freshman guard KJ Lewis, who missed the 124-77 win over Israel Select on Monday, had 15 points in 16 minutes.

Filip looks faster, stronger, smarter. Break out alert. He's looking smooth out there on the court.
It's unreal how his talent level jumped from Freshman to Sophomore year. If Love hadn't transferred, I'd expect Borovicanin to be our starting SG. Regardless, he should earn a lot of minutes this season. What a badass...

You are just looking at stats. Do you know how he scored? Layups and left alone 3's. They are scrimmages after all. Plus, who are you sitting for him? Who's minutes is he taking?
Love to see Fili B doing well. He plays the right brand of basketball and has a very natural feel for the game.
Borovicanin scored in every possible way against Israel. He was also the best rebounder on the team.
He'll likely take minutes away from the SG's: Love, Bradley and (to a lesser extend) Pelle.
I am actually super curious how Tommy is going to spread the minutes for this team. I wonder if Veesaar and Anderson get more than 10 minutes a game if that. We could go like 11 deep which is insane.
Guards:
- Boswell
- Love
- Lewis
- Bradley
- Borovicanin
- Larsson
Bigs:
- Krivas
- Johnson
- Ballo
- Veesaar
- Anderson
- Murauskas

Let's just wait until he faces better athletes outside of the FIBA environment and ball. Also, he looked more like last year against a better opponent in Lebanon. I'd be surprised if he is getting more than 6-7 min.
Since we have 5 guys that can play the wing, I wouldn't be surprised if his minutes are limited this season.
After Love & Larsson graduate, he will likely take on a huge role alongside Lewis in 2024-25.
