Caleb Love has committed to the Arizona Wildcats! Caleb a UNC transfer has committed to Tommy Lloyd over Texas, Gonzaga, and more. As we reported he canceled his visit to Texas as he decided UofA was going to be his new home.

Love is an aggressive scoring guard with a downhill style of play. He attacks the defense and has both power and quickness on his drives to the hoop. He doesn't shy away from contact and he's a guy who can finish above the rim. His step-back game is promising but can be inconsistent and he's streaky from outside. He's a good competitor who's energy and hustle rubs off on his teammates, especially when he's hitting shots. With an impressive 6-9 wingspan (measured at Nike Skills Academy) and broad shoulders he's clearly got the size and frame for the NBA level and fits where the NBA is going with versatile guards who can score. He's not necessarily a pass-first player but he does a good job of pressuring and collapsing the defense with his scoring ability, which can get open shots for teammates. Love can get a bit careless with the ball and over dribble at times but that's what happens when you're the best player on the court (and his decision making will improve with age).
A proven winner, Love has the tools to raise the ceiling of any team. Even at the NBA level, there's a clear pathway to him being a key piece of the rotation on a championship team one day. Love enters year four at the college level as a decorated college prospect. During North Carolina's championship run in 2022, he scored more than any player in the tournament. Furthermore, he knocked down countless clutch buckets which proved he's able to step up in the biggest moments. He's the ultimate competitor that can do a bit of everything. The upside as an isolation scorer with a ton of athleticism and speed is intriguing. He's a strong driver with a quick first step and a dynamic package of dribble moves. Defensively, Love is also able to make plays. He's generated over a steal per game over the course of his career, leveraging his quick hands and ability to jump passing lanes. At 6-foot-4 and nearly 200 pounds, Love has the frame to be physical when defending opposing guards.

Welcome to the family that is Arizona Caleb!
I am sure I speak for all of the Arizona fandom when I say we are excited to have you on board!
Looks like the 2023-24 starters are set huh?
Boswell
Bradley
Love
Johnson
Ballo
Larsson/Lewis are the guards off the bench.
Some combination of Anderson/Krivas/Veesaar is going to be coming off the bench for the bigs.
If my math is correct, this is the 13th scholarship prospect on the roster.
What am I saying?
This means there is no shot of Tubelis returning to Arizona without someone losing their scholarship.

In his statement about Love, Tommy Lloyd said, "As we near the completion of our roster..."
Is there another move coming?

I don't see what we could possibly be adding unless it's some sort of 24 year old SF type.
Welcome to the famile C-Love! Take us to the promise land and don't forget to BTFD!
Great news. Can't wait to watch this kid light up Duke one last time.
Glad he's officially on our team.
CTL on the move ! Great get Tommy ! BTFD !
I'll reserve judgement on Love as t. lloyd's record of judging the character of transfers is suspect.

What's wrong with Ballo, Pelle, Ramey, Henderson or Kier?

3 of those 5 have an NCAA win and none of those guys got run off the team only to be mixed up in a sodomy and genital twisting scandal (Akin Jr.)
The transfers thus far have been solid contributors that don't try to steal the spotlight and use Arizona as a stepping stone for the NBA.
There's a reason I didn't mention Aiken; what a weird ass situation. Fortunately, Lloyd (apparently) removed him from the team immediately upon recognizing that something strange is happening in the locker room. You can't do due diligence to avoid that situation during the recruiting process...WTF.

You say this like no other coaches are quick to remove a resident predator from the team. Anyone remember Pitts and his disappearance?
Tucson is a bizarre little town in the Southern Desert. The media is tightly knit and well under control. We don't know plenty of things as they happen and for good reason.
I wasn't comparing the two coaches, just acknowledging how well Aiken's situation was handled.
Now that you mention it, though, the Pitts situation became an absolute debacle. It wasn't just an administrative issue either.

No it shouldn't be because Arizona has filled all of their scholarships:
Anderson
Ballo
Borovicanin
Boswell
Bradley
Johnson
Krivas
Larsson
Lewis
Love
Martinez
Murauskas
Veesaar
Love was the final roster spot, and I kept forgetting about Martinez when I was doing my math.
That is your 2023-24 Arizona Wildcats roster right there.

I was a little unsure about love coming here, do to unc fans bashing him an wanting him out.
Also his poor shooting percentages, but I think at arizona tommey Lloyd will coach him up.
He won't be able to take as many shots like he did at unc.
So now I am happy he came here an hope it works.
Give me a lineup of.
Boswell
Bradley
Love
Johnson
