Don't bump into this Bama team in the parking lot after we play them next season...
Parole Tide.
Amazing. I'm definitely stealing that one...well done.
This isn't a 2A post, but I do not understand what these kids are thinking overall.
I have never been to Tuscaloosa and probably don't think I will ever have a reason to go there, but I have a hard time believing that a gun is necessary for these young kids. I know of the treatment players get at mega schools. They get everything personalized and catered from lodging to food and training. They don't have to sit with "normal" students.
They don't need to do anything except their "Job" --- which is what I am going to start calling this going forward now that NIL has infected the entire landscape officially. We all know they were paid before this, but at least they could hide behind "Student" Athlete as a status. Now they are Professionals by my calculus.
Nobody's perfect...
Dang - throw away their futures. wow
Why is it necessary for a division 1 basketball player to drive around with a gun. They're not gangsters in the hood, they're athletes on a sports scollie at a D1 College..SMH

In the Era of NIL and paid players, I think that the NCAA should start suspending players that are not reflective of the "image" that the NCAA wants to have. Ja Morant is about to be suspended at least half a season if not all of next season for partaking in the "culture". NCAA should step in and make sure Coaches can't protect their players and I would even take it 1 step further and require a fine for these kids to pay that goes toward charities or awareness initiatives. These are not just students anymore. They are professional athletes. NCAA can't tell a sponsor to end their deal with a kid, but they can have "Standards" for the players who participate in NCAA sports.
They need to nip this in the bud before another tragedy occurs.

I definitely don't disagree with what you've said. If these kids are gonna be making high 6 figure checks, playing college basketball. Then they need to be held to high standards. An should not be able to hide behind coaches like Oats, who will just turn a blind eye, and not hold his players responsible for doing dumb ass shit. Making their schools look bad.
