What a tremendous institutional failure on Coach Painter's behalf not unlike Tommy Lloyd's All-Time worst failure in Arizona Basketball History.
HOWEVER
While some of you may look to this as consolation for our loss, the truth is that is an extremely low IQ psychological behavior to relish in as Arizona has squandered one of the best opportunities that this University has ever had to win it all.
Take it all in and enjoy Purdue's pain all you want, but don't think for even a nano-second that this means ANYTHING in regards to our now globally perceived systemic tournament failure 2 seasons in a row.
I currently rank Purdue has having the worst NCAA Tournament loss of all time, usurping Tommy Lloyd's yesterday. 3rd being UVA vs UMBC due to the absolute style UVA plays making it feasible for any team to defeat them.
For fans that pay attention to more than one season of college basketball, you should recognize that this isn't a fluke.
Over the past 8 postseasons, Purdue fell in the first round to 8, 12, 13 and 16 seeds.

All I said here was not to take Purdue's loss too seriously so as to erase Tommy Lloyd's loss from your memory. It was the single worst coaching failure in Arizona Basketball History no matter what you think about it. You can avoid the truth or just accept it.
The truth is that Princeton was far from our worst loss. Blowing opportunities to make the Final Four (Uconn and Wisconsin 2x) were much more devastating to the program.
We're rebuilding a brand that has been tarnished for 20 years.

Absolutely
not the truth. Couldn't be further from the truth. LOL
