I wouldn't put a dime down on the tourney this year. Going to be a ton of fun to watch and the field is wide open.
If somebody Donated betting funds, I'd take UCONN or KU with those odds (although I'd obviously cheer on the cats in march)

Damn. Wish I had actually put cash on UConn. Looking pretty good right now.

If someone donated you funds, then you would not be the one wagering anything.. where is the logic?
I knew that the tournament was going to be madness because there were a lot of smaller programs that appeared to be stronger than the bluebloods at that point in the season. March Madness was truly crazy and I wish I stuck with my gut (Uconn). Crazy to think that Bama wasn't even on the list at that point...

Uconn was a blueblood before last night and is a blueblood after. Having been to Storrs many times, I can tell you it is the Bizarro Tucson in every way including Winning National Championships.
TWICE, the university of Houston had to donate students, pretending to be UCONN students during the Final Four because their fam base didn't travel and CBS didn't want their section to be embarrassingly empty.

We're in a recession.
I don't think you realize how much of a hassle and financial pain in the ass it is to travel from Storrs to Houston. I did see that the tickets for the Women's Final 4 were 3x the going rate of the Men's. But that is really a testament to Caitlin Clark, the female Chef Curry. She is must-see-TV now.
The entire Elite 8 was a ghost town too for the record. Once the bigger schools got knocked out in the Sweet 16, the whole tournament got quiet. And for me, as a fan, that's fine. It was quality basketball overall. The Big Dance may never be the same. We all need to get used to the idea because the Transfer Portal Era has raised the stakes for the "little guys".
PS - The best game of the Tournament was Michigan St vs Kansas St.
Hell yes. That Sparty/K-State game was unreal.
People didn't attend the men's tourney because their teams were out of it...and the Final Four was in an awful location. I've attended multiple games at NRG Stadium and it sucks. The NCAA screwed up by not giving the destination to a "real" host city.
Any other school has a "wait list" of kids that wanted to be bussed across the country to attend the Final Four. UCONN consistently needs assistance in bringing fans to the biggest games. It's pretty sad for a program that should be ATTRACTING more fans with their winning culture.

Arizona is +2000 to win it all next season, tied for 6th best odds with UCLA. Gonzaga tied for 5th best odds at +1800. Don't get it twisted, it's a blatant sucker bet, but there are still analytical expectations behind Futures betting
Duke +1000
UConn +1200
Kentucky +1400
Kansas +1600
Marquette +1600
Purdue +1800
Michigan State +1800
Gonzaga +1800
Arizona +2000
UCLA +2000
Absolutely. Odds for programs like Dook and UCLA become diluted because Vegas junkies bet alone on "big names".
Unless somebody has inside info regarding which players are declaring/transferring in early April, it would be silly to bet on futures.
