Title: Quick look at our 2023 FB commits
Post by: Little George on June 20, 2022, 08:14:51 AM
Brayden Dorman 307, Carter Stoutmire 627, Solomon Davis 627, Canyon Moses 648, Arian Parish 757, Lucas Conti 788, and Justin Johnson 990 are all rated in the composite ranking top 1000 players on 247 sports. Rhino Tapaatoutai is at 1083. These guys are all solid recruits and should contibute either immediately or soon after arriving on campus especially IF they can enroll early and attend Spring Camp.

The rest of these guys do not have composite scores so I will break it down a little differently.

Gavin Hunter  has an 84 with 247 and a 5.6  with Rivals. Comparison is that both Canyon Moses and Arian Parish also have a 5.6 rating with Rivals. This is a solid get.
Dominic Lolesio has an 83 with 247, but a 5.5 with Rivals which compares to Lucas Conti who is a top 1000 guy in the composite scores through Rivals. This is a very good get.
Kamuela Kaailue has an 83 with 247 as a three star but only a 5.4 which is a two star by Rivals.
Brandon Johnson has an 85 by 247 which is comparible to Justin Johnson who is a top 1000 player by the composite scores, and a 5.5 with Rivals which is also in the same comparison area. This is another solid get!
Julian Savaiinee is a three star guy with only an 83 rating by 247 and a two star 5.4 rating with Rivals. Brother is at Arizona currently.
Tylen Gonzalez only has a rating from Rivals and it is a two star 5.4 rating because he has just not been a visable player. All of his size, speed, strength should lift him much higher IF he can produce on the field.

We currently have some crystal ball picks with 4 guys that fit very similar issues with ratings.
Iapani Loloulu is a four star guy rated as the 333 rd best payer in the country and the 17th best IOL guy by 247 composite. Rivals has him at the 7th best IOL player in the country with a 5.9 rating which would make him the highest rated commit by Rivals rankings IF he commits.
Tre Spivey is rated the 627th best player in the class in the composite ratings by 247.
Genesis Smith is only a 3 star by 247, with no composite score, but a 5.6 rating  by Rivals which has him comparible to both Brandon Johnson and Canyon Moses above.
All three of those guys are very good gets.
Sean Brown has 85 rating by 247 with no composite score. That would put him at the same rating withJustin Johnson and Brandon Johnson as well.

Recruiting rankings are very difficult to complete for FB compared to Basketball because of the pure number of players involved as well as the level of competition between school sizes and locations. Some players at smaller schools or lesser schools may get over looked thus either under or un rated. Over all our current class is rated lower than last years, but comparible in talent. These four additions IF they commit would be solid additions.

Hope this helps a little in your view of the current commits. Rhino was a top 1000 guy until more player were simply moved in front of him because they had not previously been evaluated/rated.
