Who would you hire to be the General Manager of the Basketball Program?

This team needs a GM since Tommy has no clue how to navigate the NIL Era.

Post whoever you think could or should be hired.

We have plenty of money for players whether anyone likes it or not this is how business is done for Pro Sports aka College Athletics.

Living in denial and thinking that these kids care about the HONOR of coming to play in Tucson or anywhere for that matter is patently archaic, narrow minded, and all around irrelevant.

It is what it is. Embrace it or get left in the dust.

So then that would be a 1 Year contract for Gilbert since his kid will be a 1 and Done.

After Gilbert's job is done, then who should be the "long term" GM. For stability purposes.

Also, a GM could easily pay Gilbert directly and pay his kid for his services rendered. So Gilbert as GM isn't really necessary if that's what you believe would get us the recruit - Unless Gilbert demanded the role specifically.

This is why we actually need a GM... So they can make the payments and Lloyd can just do his actual job since he is incapable of handling the finance portion of the job and the coaching portion.

lol of course it would be a rental just like Bruschi was for us. No alumni is going to stick this position out long term. I'll be surprised if Luck is at Stanford 5 plus years. None of the candidates we have on here would be a long term. So we are stuck with the guy that we just hired. Steve Kerr would be the perfect fit long term imo as he did good as a GM for the Suns. But, he has a great thing going.

I didn't add Kerr because he is still currently coaching the Modern Era GOAT in the NBA. Sean Elliott may be as good of an option. Not in on Miles Simon, but Elliott has been around Kerr and Popovich. He knows a lot more.

lol then what was the point of adding all these other guys that have stable positions. Only right answer at this point is Kerr. But, he won't right now. Elliott who knows if he would want something like this because he's lowkey & out of the way. Miles Simon has been floating around coaching staffs. So based off what I've seen. Simon would be the better option of the 2 because he has more experience on that side of basketball
