Are there any advanced metrics out there to support Tom's repeated decision to start both Trey and Delly? If there are, I would love to see them. In addition, I will ask the same question about playing them together at any time during a game, not just the start.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have it, but I would also love to see the data.

Before: At 6-5, Arizona was outside the NCAA Tournament bubble, with no Quad 1 wins and a KenPom "Luck" rating of 362nd, indicating misfortune in close games.

After: The team secured a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the second round with a 23-12 record. Wins over ranked teams (e.g., Baylor, Cincinnati) and a third-place Big 12 finish (projected fifth preseason) bolstered their resume, with a 5-6 stretch in February-March offset by earlier dominance.

Metrics like improved win percentage, assist totals, rebounding tenacity, and individual impacts from Dell'Orso and Townsend demonstrate Lloyd's decision was right. It transformed a 6-5 team into a 23-12 NCAA Tournament squad, aligning with his goals of toughness and team play. While not a perfect fix (e.g., late-season losses to Kansas State and Houston), the overall upward trend—especially in Big 12 play and the postseason—validates the move as a strategic success by March 25, 2025.

He didn't start using this lineup and these rotations until the conference tournament.
