Pelle Larsson Wins the 2K Summer League Championship, Literally

Pelle hits the game winner.

Pelle is Jordan-esque.

Keshad Johnson is also a Champion.

Heat are smart to take Pelle and sign Keshad undrafted.

The Suns are hot basura for letting Keshad sign outside of Phoenix.

Both will be good NBA players. Pelle sooner.

Heat are a top notch franchise and I won't be surprised to see them trading some talent to make room for guys like Pelle and Ex Duck Turned Hoosier Kel'el Ware.

I'm guessing Ware didn't earn Ballo-ian NIL, but he will win the long game. I don't think Ballo is a NBA level player unless he turns into a 70% FT shooter. Something Tommy couldn't get him to do.

I can't picture Pelle surpassing Jaquez on that roster, so it's tough to see how he'll get much playing time in the near term. But I do think he has great value long term.

Different position for NBA purposes. Pelle will be fighting for that Tyler Herro/Caleb Martin type of role ultimately. I believe the Heat are going to trade Herro soon. Sounds strange, I know, but he is looking at garnering a 400 million / extension type deal with the new NBA cap. I'm also going to assume Jimmy Butler will be on his way soon too. The Heat are re-tooling and it looks to me like Bam may be their centerpiece, no pun - as he is a PF who punches above his weight class.

But Miami is always a FA destination and I don't think they want to be tied up in big money with Herro. Pelle fits like a glove next to Jacquez. Keshad Showtime just fits in the NBA period. Not a perfect player nor starter really, but Derrick Jones was a high flying dunker and he has proven he can develop his game to be viable and garner a major role all the way to the Finals. I like Keshad's chances of that route.

Also side note: Josh Green was traded from the Mavs to clear a role for Klay Thompson. I think Green also has been improving a lot and the Mavs may not necessarily regret the move, but I see Green continuing to improve and have a nice long "Wildcat" career... you know, rarely Elite, but more so a University Factory for Solid, Remarkable Longevity for players produced in the Miller and Lute Era's. At least more often than not for those drafted.
