Oakland transfer Trey Townsend has committed to Arizona!!

Townsend averaged 17.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists this season. Helped No. 14 seed Oakland upset Kentucky, and scoring 30 points vs N.C. State. Arizona secures an important replacement for Keshad Johnson, a projected 2nd-round pick.

Huge get for coach Lloyd!!!

Great addition.  Similar to Keshod, he can shoot the 3 when necessary but is primarily and interior force that will help gather rebounds and defend opposing bigs.

Last year no AZ player averaged more TOs than Trey Townsend has in both of the last 2 seasons. (2.1, 2.5 TOs per game)

Welcome to the family that is Arizona Trey!

Now, I believe 60% of the starting lineup for 2024-25 is full, with two spots available.
If I did not fill the spot, it is because I do not believe the starter is on the roster yet.

F - Townsend
C - Krivas

I would not mind seeing Bryant in that starting role, but from reports I read, he is not big/physical enough (weight) at his size to start yet.
I am saying this in mid-April, and things can change a lot from now until the end of July.
I believe Lloyd is going to bring in at least two more transfers.
I will wait to see who they are, and if I believe they will start.

It sounds like we have an either or situation for the sg position.

If Love returns he will be the sg.

If he doesn't Sanon will reclassify and play sg.

That's how most interpret Sanon's tweet.

KJ will be our sf. I am confident he will return. Fingers crossed.
