Arizona shocks the 1st place Trojans ending their win steak 81-72

Sean Miller has won 300 games with the Arizona Wildcats, and maybe none has been as important to his future with the program.

Arizona led for the final 28-plus minutes, knocking off Pac-12 leader USC 81-72 on Saturday afternoon at the Galen Center in Los Angeles to snap the 17th-ranked Trojans' seven-game win streak. It was the Wildcats' first road victory over a ranked opponent (when not ranked itself) since knocking off Washington State in Pullman in 2008.

James Akinjo had 20 points and 7 assists, making up for an 0 for 9 shooting performance in the home loss to USC last month, while Azuolas Tubelis had 16 points and 15 rebounds and Jordan Brown added...

Very nice win. This was the best they played all season.

If it weren't for the BS calls every time Mobley walked down the court, we would have crushed them. Koloko got the raw end of the whistles and shouldn't have fouled out.

Loved the effort from our front court. Tons of aggressive rebounds, nice outlet passes and minimal turnovers in the paint.

Guards shared the ball and took the first best available shot.

Sweep the Washington schools and we'll take some nice momentum into the sophomore "rebuild" season!

That was the best offensive performance in a long time. Happy Dalen and Big Brown had a good game. Happy for James and Tube. Very complete team win.

I am not shocked and I perceive this headline as fake news and/or click-bait :D

We won playing to our offensive standards within the system which in this season is built to outpace the opponent offensively so as long as we sink our shots. This season more than any in recent memory I feel Miller has coached his team to break zones. In the past, perhaps with 5 Stars, he may has assumed that talent overcomes scheme - and that 5 stars did not want to play a more fundamental brand of basketball. However, he has This group killing every zone teams this season. Whether we win or lose games is usually determined on the defensive side of the ball.

KansasCityCats

Agreed regarding zone. I shouldn't make assumptions but Jason Terry could play a big role in busting the zone.

Since his arrival, opponents played more man defense against Arizona because of our efficiencies.

Having Tubelis also helps because he regularly knocks down that little jumper from the arc.

Clearly one of the best games of the past 3 seasons.  BEAR DOWN !!

Good win arizona really needed a big win against a ranked team.
Hopefully they get some confidence  at the end of the season.
I hope ben can get his confidence back since his ankle injury  he has struggled for the most part.
