ICE COLD Arizona falls to UCLA at home 65-52

The Arizona Wildcats saw their 3-game win streak come to an end on Saturday night in dismal fashion, shooting just 25.4 percent—the worst rate in McKale Center history—in a 65-52 home loss to UCLA.

On the overall performance: "We didn't have a good performance tonight. UCLA deserves a lot of credit, their defense was a big reason they won. And so was their offense. They were good at both ends. They were prepared, they were better than us, and they were really better than us from start to finish. We got beat on defense, we got beat on offense and we have a couple guys that certainly really struggled tonight."

On Arizona's offense: "We were 3 for 19 from two in the first half. It's hard to...

Last year we had the worst AZ team in 35 yrs, tonight we had the worst shooting EVER! Setting new records.

In his first nine yrs here, miller lost 13 games at McKale. He has lost 7 since last yr.

You will probably  when any game when you only make 15 fg. Arizona  played a  horrible game  an an about the only guys that shot ok were Baker  an gettings.  As a team they were horrible  shooting  it reminded  of the baylor an gonzaga game we could not shoot in those games  Dylan smith is I'n a 4 game slump  right now where he cant by a shot  nico could not by one tonight an no assist  zeke missed alot of layups  some was the defense  some he missed  on his own  he    UCLA played good d in post area I thought Arizona   missed alot of makeable  shots that they can make.

Miller said "They were prepared."  Well how about US being prepared?  I am sick to death of walking out of McKale after a loss but I am also numb.

I have always supported this team and will do so until my dying breath however...
We seem to be approaching 'Dick Tomey territory' with Coach Miller.  Tomey could put forth decent teams that could never get over the hump and that appears to be what's going on here now too.  We've got a team with THREE first round NBA draft picks that can't seem to get out of its own way.  I know Miller has forgotten more about basketball than I'll ever know but why does it seem our talented teams keep getting outplayed and out coached?  I rarely see anything on offense that looks like a screen, let alone an actual PLAY.

I'm not advocating getting rid of Miller (yet) but something has to change in either his recruiting theory  (maybe go more after four year kids) or his offensive strategy in order for us not to see this same script repeated year after year.

Terribly played game and even worse coaching.  Miller continues to play Smith meaningful minutes and he stunk it up again 0 for 7.  The Zoo was full for the first time in a long time and we shit in our pants.  Since 12/1 we have won 8 and lost 7.  And we think we should be a favorite to win the Pac 12.  Not going to happen.  I see victories against the Washington schools at home and Cal on the road.  All the other games could easily be loses.  Not ever seen a Wildcat basketball team shoot as bad as we did in the second half of the USC game and then again last night.  Teams are double and triple teaming Zeke, daring us to shoot but we rarely move the ball and take a smart shot.  Something is really wrong with this team.  People feel we have three first round NBA prospects.  I have been to every home game and three road games.  I don't see it.  Zeke is great around the basket but has no outside shot.  Green also has no consistent outside shot and Nico makes a lot of mistakes.

Yup a lot of raw talent that shouldn't be relied upon this heavily. Player development and recruiting outside of the 5 star kids has been terrible. When someone like Dylan Smith is your best upperclassmen you are going nowhere. Miller has no accountability Smith and Mannion were absolutely terrible last night, did nothing right and Miller rides them to the finish line, while others get thrown into the doghouse for a silly foul. Best case scenario we split the road games and win 3-1 out home finish 21-10 slip in the tourney as a 7-10 seed and win a game maybe. That's Arizona basketball now and let's enjoy it because next year is another shit show waiting to happen.

We have three first round NBA picks ONLY because the NBA drafts on potential.  If they drafted strictly on how they performed this year I don't believe any of the trio would go in the first round (possibly Zeke).  But for whatever reason, none of them seem to improving as the season goes on.
