Interesting article here.

Wild question is IF we land a few of these guys do we have a shot at bring Brandon Williams back into the class?

BW with any two of these would be a win, BW with any 3 would be solid indeed.

The opportunity for PT at a top program should be of interest to many even with the current situation.

I know we will look at some transfers, grad-tranfers, and likely some JC guys. There are still some decent JC guys out there and the grad-tranfers won't be known until after the season is over.

Now-- this is the way to look at the bright side of things.  They are out there. We can find them BEAR DOWN

Yes, the biggest jump in imlrovement is from year 1 to year two. S&C and experience will pay big dividends to our returning group of Akot, Randolph, and others. That is a decent returning group to start with. Then come the new recruits and or transfers. SM built a nice program before he came here from those lower rated players.

Getting Jordan Brown Would be huge. He was going to pick UCLA, but has backed off since Shareef O'Neal committed. He's better than O'Neal & Cal is currently in the lead to land the Big man as of now. Hopefully we can still get the 2 od the best guards left in the 2018 class in Devonaire Doutrive & Tevian Jones. Penn Johnson is pretty much a lock for Washington. If we can get 2 out of 4 of these guys it would be big for our 2018 class

Someone forgot to tell this to Alkins

This. I think the biggest thing is retaining our guys currently on the roster. Any transfers out of the program would be much bigger blows than the decommitted recruits. Losing guys who already know the system and have been in a college S&C program for a year would be brutal. I don't think it happens but Miller needs to put the minds of the kids on the roster and their families/handlers at ease.

There is some negative recruiting going on and espn has hurt our options bad but thevtruth is that even with Jones saying he is staying away and everyone having decommitted from us, the opportunity here is really good. We have a solid 6 guys returning, but none are a lock to start leaving anyone who comes here an opportunity to play for a very good program with top notch fan support and not have to worry about being burried on a deep roster.

IDK the status of all these guys, but if they are not committed somewhere, or even have not signed their LOIs, they should take a serious look at Arizona! In a day where half the top recruits think they are a one and done anyway right?

Grad-transfers have the same situation. Especially thise stars from the smaller schools who have not had the big time exposure. D Smith has been a solid addition to our team. Now consider how many small school kids who have graduated with aother year to play could put themselves in the spot light playing for SM and Arizona.

As the air clears a little more following the tournament I would expect some nice additions to the current roster for next year.

Tevian Jones? He said he was staying away?

WILD

Yup, it sounds like he's a lock to go to Illinois after the latest wiretap news. We'll see if anything changes.

Regarding hoping that someone that is expected to leave actually stays, you have to think that at least some of them are fed up playing in the NCAA and all the crap they have been put through. You think Trier would want to stay (even if he's thought to be a low 2nd rounder by then) after being suspended for 20 games? We know Ayton is gone purely due to his talent and possible #1 pick status. Even if he entertained the thought of staying another year, do you think he would after his $100k experience? Hell no! Rawle, had little taste of it but no consequences. His foot has been a bigger problem, but after seeing what his team has been through, I'd think if he had to play overseas, that's more attractive than continuing to play in the NCAA's world.

Any more small guards must pass the toughness test...  \>:(

I love the optimism you guys have. I don't think anyone is picking us until this stuff goes away which will take years. We so fucked

One down three to go.
What have we learned this week?
1. Doutrive has verbally committed.
2. Schlabach is a douche.
3. The UofA's confidence in Sean Miller is justified.

Agreed!
We've got Doutrive and I cant see how Akinjo can pass on a program like Arizona, especially now that every major program is mixed up in this mess in one form or another.  Omar Thielemans looks sneaky good and we seem to be his top school.  Kid looks like a typical Miller wing, great length, motor, passing and defensively looks special.  If we could add a capable big man to contribute immediately and another big man to develop, I think we could come out of all this with a great class.  Plus, these aren't one and done kids, so we wont need 6 commits in 2019(barring any transfers from UA).  NVM about Akinjo I guess.  DANG man I was feeling so optimistic lol
