At least we know he'll be a Wildcat if he returns.

Wow. Can't ask for more from a guy like Carter. At this point I hope his NIL deal is enough to keep him in college

Revenue Sharing... I like it. Smart kid. All the more reason to return. Didn't know you could do that, but as many point out.. Basketball and Football are their own businesses on Campus

I fully agree and disagree with everything stated above, reserving the right to change my position on the same.

What exactly is "revenue sharing" in college athletics now, anyways?  Who is Carter going to share revenue with?
Apparently not Henri or The Little Spaniard, since they are gone.  Or is someone sharing their revenue with CB?  Does he get a cut of each home ticket sold?

I am sort of kidding (although I am confused what this actually means), but the landscape has changed so much it is hard to keep up....

I am going to assume Carter wants a cut of the net profits associated with the program. I am sure it would be commensurate with that of wherever he is projected to be drafted if he gets mediocre "18-25" feedback.

I see many mocks where he is not even picked until the 2nd which is criminal, but do you think he is ready to be guarding Luka, Lebron, SGA, Booker, Tatum, Jaylen Brown etc? That's his assignment.

No doubt he is not yet ready to guard those superstars, but the NBA drafts on potential, so that is kind of a moot point anyway.  At the end of the day, it really all comes down to money and how soon they can get to that second NBA contract where the really big dough comes into play.

The first 2 years are guaranteed, but you still need to perform and make it to that 2nd contract. Everyone wants it, but if you come in, average 3 minutes per game 1.7ppg etc the first 2 years, then you get a little spike to 6pgg... you may not get a huge 2nd deal and then you have to wait for a 3rd deal... so being more prepared can help push that big 2nd deal along

A good example is Zeke Nnaji, probably one of the best players in the game when he was here.. he made 11mil over 4 years, then got his 2nd deal for 32mil..he's Rich...

But if Zeke stayed and was a top5 pick, he gets that money immediately and plays more.

So it's all relative.

Since we're kinda on the topic, will Dalen Terry get a 2nd contract? His production has somehow gotten worse over the course of 3 years and he's only got one year left on the rookie deal.

This is Dalen's contract and career earnings to date. The Bulls picked that 5mil club option which is juicy for Dalen. Then RFA status basically means if the Bulls don't offer him an extension before that point, Terry can explore Free Agency, see what Anyone will pay him and if someone makes him an offer, the Bulls can match it and retain him. If they don't, he goes to whoever made the offer. Or if he is skipped over then he could be out of the league theoretically at a pretty young age and he is not on a good team currently so while I understand Zeke never getting minutes behind Jokic, Mike Porter Jr and Aaron Gordon... Dalen Terry should be performing by now. Like an Amen/Ausar Thompson at least type.

I am concerned he left too soon for his talent and missed out on some NIL and development, but hopefully it works out for him.

This is what someone like Carter has to think about. He CAN go pro and develop there, but can he get on the court before the first 2 years are up because there is no guarantee after that.
