I don't know what Tommy is doing, but what I do know is we don't have 1 real PG on this roster other than Conrad who shouldn't really garner any minutes.

This team really needs a true PG, Floor General. Not little Conrad.

Money should never be an issue for us. It is a small roster. Tommy really only plays 6 to 7 guys. So if Ohio State can pay $20 Million for their football team and be what they are, I think our payroll would be just fine around $5 Million.

Teams who spend $10-$15 Million will learn quickly that the the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. (Boosters wasting money). It makes sense in Football, but with 1 and Done in Basketball it doesn't guarantee anything to pay big money and it almost guarantees players will "pack it in" if they think they have done enough for their draft stocks.

I wonder if Tommy can put together an incentive based NIL program where everyone gets their base pay of 100k-250k, but they can earn up to $1 to $2 million per season if they can achieve predetermined performance based goals, Go unbeaten before Conference Play, Win the Big12 Conference, Big12 Conference Tournament, and Win March Madness... NOT JUST GET TO A FINAL FOUR, but maybe 10k per win in the Big Dance until the Final Four where maybe it can go up to 25k, but some millions equally distributed to the team for winning it all.

I would like that model a lot better. Give the kids something to work toward instead of letting them retire from life before getting started.

Interesting take AR.  Could be very motivating for players.  I would guess other schools would have to do the same to make that work

I don't even care if we whiff on Burries. Just get in the portal and take it more seriously next time.

Paying recruits is now part of the business but it's unnecessary to overpay when you have a brand that already attracts high level talent (and exposes them to scouts).

I do like the idea of incentive-based NIL offers. That would prevent Ayton-ish results of improving draft stock but not winning important games.

To read that Peat is hoping Arizona gets closer to the offer of other programs tells me that (1) he wants to come to Arizona, but (2) he also wants to get his money.
The part I don't understand is he is going to be a OND prospect anyway, so why does it matter the dollar amount when you are only going to be going to class for 6mos anyway?
By the time April rolls around, you are going to stop going to class and prepare for the draft.

Go to the school that your heart leads you too.
If Peat ends up at ASSU over a dollar sign?
I won't say I am going to be "mad" at Lloyd, but damn that is a cold way to lose a high-priority in-state prospect.

He'd be a wonderful addition.  Hopefully, his Bro (Andrus) isn't getting Arizona "persuasion" from his HC, Antonio Pierce...

I think the nil offers  for both players are solid, the problem  would be that there are schools that would pay more than that for these 5 stars,
Peat an  his family  really seem like they wanna get paid, which worrys me, not sure about burries an his family.

WILD

Hearing Asu is offering Peat 1 Million.

Will he take the money or go to a team where he can win and make more money being a higher draft pick in the end??
