This year was a disaster! No freaking excuses.
Coach was hand a Ferrari that needed a Lil alignment. He threw it in an off road rally and ran the wheels off of it.
I was devastated by Coach Mac 24 years ago. Heart broken again by the Scumlin years. This is NOT acceptable! I'm sorry, but these coaches making millions is a joke. I'd have coached for free this year and without a doubt been bowling. You know when a fan can sit in the stands and call a play before the ball is snapped your game plan is screwed!
All things point to success. All things went south on the field. Best players transfer. Best recruits go elsewhere.
No we are in a rebuild. New OC, new DC, and new STC. Hmmm
How about a freaking strength program?
How about running real contact drills? We were totally soft this year!
It was hard to even tune in and try to watch it happen. I am sickened by this.
I love the Arizona Wildcats, but right now it is like someone flushed and we are picking up speed.
Not just FB either. We cannot even say in a positive way, BB is here.
I see this failure in society all around repeating itself. I think the more educated some people get the dumber they get.
If this sounds like a isn't, it isn't.  The state of where we are as a program is terrible. Just stating the obvious!

In looking forward:
I hope that this year's staff did not destroy everything good in Fifita. He needs to bounce back.
We need a solid OC!
Akina going back to the position coach is solid. DC? Same as OC. Need really good ones for sure.
We have the talent to go bowling next year IF that talent doesn't bust out in the portal. Not looking good right now!

The old saying: "Play like you practice" is so true. We practiced soft in fear of injury and we played soft with many injuries because we were not conditioned for the game. The players trusted the staff when the staff had no direction at all. I heard so many times this year, "we are trying to find our identity". Hmm, this team had a bond and an identity already. It was coaching that destroyed that identity.

Honestly I do not care for much of the decision making at the upper levels of the University. The whole University seems to lack direction in numberous areas.

I have tried to stay away from the board for a while to keep it positive, but I have seen better coaching at the Jr High level in more than one of our programs. FB is obviously a sore spot for me.

I sure hope the right OC and DC come in.

Our entire future lays on what happens in the next 12 months in FB, BB, WBB, Softball, and Baseball. They are all at a major crossroads. FB failed miserably and now sits close to the edge of a deep dive. The WBB game tonight made me want to just throw up all over. Like we are trying recreate another Aari so bad we refuse to play as a team or to our strengths. Pathetic! Men's team isn't any more "team" themselves.

No rant here at all, just the facts. Just the stare of affairs at the Old Pueblo.

Bear Down!

Can't disagree with any of this LG.  Great to have you back !

It's hard to blame anybody besides the staff for the lack of success this season.

Similar to the Sumlin hire, Brennan looked great on paper.  He's young, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and is ready to make Tucson his final coaching destination.

Assuming they make significant changes to the staff, he deserves one more season to prove that 2024 was a fluke.  I assume that the boosters will have him on a tight leash but I genuinely hope he succeeds because Brennan lives and breathes Arizona Football.

I had to look twice. I thought I wrote this post.

I still believe there are Ghouls higher up in the chain of command that are responsible for a lot of what was said in this post.

Just so everyone knows. I will still be watching, following, cheering, and maybe crying. Bear Down!

Absolutely. But the mismanagement of a deep roster was a direct result of the staff. Pushing guys like Speedy Luke to redshirt, losing Pulido, giving carries to Conley and allowing Fifita to get killed were just a few of the many issues.

I'd prefer to see Brennan clean house.
