Arizona Vs Oklahoma 🏀 Game Preview/Discussion Thread 11/28/24 3pm ESPN

The Battle 4 Atlantis continues with second round action when the Oklahoma Sooners (5-0) take on the #24 Arizona Wildcats (3-2). Oklahoma advanced after defeating Providence 79-77 in a tight battle where they missed the cover as 3.5-point favorites. Arizona cruised to victory in the first round, taking down Davidson 104-71 and covering as 15.5-point favorites. Tipoff is scheduled for 3pm from the Imperial Arena in the Bahamas, and can be found on ESPN.

Oklahoma Remains Undefeated
The Oklahoma Sooners maintained their undefeated record by taking down Providence in the first round of the tournament with a 79-77 win. This was the closest of the four first round matchups, which came down to the final possession. The winner of this game will advance to play the winner of the Louisville/West Virginia game for the championship. In the win over Providence, Oklahoma was led by Kobe Elvis with 26 points in the game.

Kobe Elvis exploded for the 26 point game after averaging just 11.0 PPG through his first four. He also had three triples in the win, and barely missed while shooting 10-14 from the field. Elvis is a 6'1 senior guard who transferred over from Dayton. Jeremiah Fears had a strong game with 20 points and seven assists in the win, he is a 6'4 freshman who is averaging 15.5 PPG on the season. Jalon Moore is an athletic 6'7 forward, he was their leading scorer coming into this game with an 18.8 scoring average, but had just six on 3-7 shooting on Wednesday.

Oklahoma is 46th overall according to KenPom. They are 55th in offensive efficiency and 39th in defensive efficiency. The Sooners play at the 153rd ranked tempo out of 364 Division I teams.

Walk in the Park for the Wildcats
The Arizona Wildcats have played some tough games this season, as they took losses in Wisconsin and at home to Duke. There was nothing tough about their first round matchup here against Davidson, as they won by 33 points, easily covering as 15.5-point favorites. They put up the highest scoring total of any team in day one of this tournament. They were led by Anthony Dell'Orso with 21 points including five threes off the bench.

Dell'Orso only played 18 minutes off the bench, but got hot from distance with is five threes. He has only been averaging 15 minutes per game, so the discrepancy in the score may have led to why he had so many shot attempts. Caleb Love played well with 20 points and five rebounds, he was an All-American last season and has been waiting to explode for a big game this year. Trey Townsend is a 6'6 senior who finished with 17 points in the starting lineup. Jaden Bradley had been their leading scorer, but he finished with just eight points against Davidson.

Arizona is ranked 21st overall according to KenPom. They are 27th in offensive efficiency and 20th in defensive efficiency. They play at one of the fastest paces in the country, ranking 6th in tempo.

ARIZONA is favored at 5.5 points and the Over/Under is 153.5 points
